Five Element Shiatsu ~ Nuad Borarn Bodywork/Vedic Thai Yoga ~ Ayurvedic Consulting
From a very young age Debi has been interested in proactive health care through healthy life style choices. When Debi first started practicing yoga in 1997 she enjoyed the positive effects it had on her mental and physical well being. This led her to a Five Elements Shiatsu levels I-IV certification completed in 2002. After developing her practice and client base for seven years and continuing her devoted yoga practice, she naturally discovered the art of Nuad Borarn Thai-Yoga Bodywork where Debi has studied with various teachers through the years receiving numerous certification hours including a Nuad Borarn Thai-Yoga teaching certification from Michael Buck at The Vedic Conservatory. In 2009, she had the privilege to attend a month long Soma Veda Thailand Externship Program where she was immersed in Thai culture learning Nuad Borarn in its motherland. In keeping with a holistic approach on well being, Debi completed an Ayurvedic Consultant certification with The American Institute of Vedic Studies in 2015. One of Debi's long time passions is creating aromatic blends with essential oils. Through the years, she has cultivated a line of Prana Mysts that she uses daily for family, friends and in her healing space with her clients. She is in the process of making these available to purchase on this website coming soon!
Debi's Offerings
Vedic Thai Yoga Bodywork is a traditional healing therapy that has been in practice for over 2500 years. The respected and honored founder is Jivaka Kumar Bhacca, known as "Father Doctor Shivago" who was the personal physician to Buddha. Thai Bodywork is rooted in Ayurveda and yoga and is theoretically based in working on the energy body (Pranic) and the energy lines (sen lines). Thai Yoga Bodywork incorporates acupressure to work these energy lines by use of thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet along with gentle assisted yoga like stretches to enable energy/qi to flow as well increasing range of motion and flexibility. This unique type of bodywork influences the energy body, restoring the flow of energy throughout the body. This bodywork is complimentary to all ages and is specifically tailored to the receiver's capabilities. During a Thai Yoga session, the receiver lays on a the mat, similar to a futon mattress wearing loose comfortable clothing. There is no oil used or disrobing in a Thai Yoga Bodywork session. After a session, the receiver is left feeling refreshed, innervated and relaxed as well as a renewed sense of being.
Five Element Shiatsu is another ancient therapy with its roots in Chinese medicine that is reflective in its connection to the natural world. It views the receiver as the microcosm of the macrocosm, that we are a reflection of the outside world consisting of the same elements as the universe: fire, earth, metal, water and wood. Each element is assigned to an organ meridian pair (yin and yang) which corresponds with a color, sound, odor, emotion and taste. As the seasons change on earth we also shift in our beings. The main objective of Five Element Shiatsu is to help someone realize who he/she is as a part of the universal structure and how to establish, maintain and integrate into the various aspects of it. Five Element Shiatsu views ourselves as an energetic structure which translates to layers of vibrations that comprise our energy field. Shiatsu assists in balancing the bodymindspirit by treating the the energy body via the energy pathways and acu-points using finger/hand pressure. Acu-point combinations along with palm pressure along the energy pathways are used to bring the receivers energy back into balance and harmony.
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive form of energy work to enhance stress reduction and relaxation which consequently increases the body's healthy circulation. Light touch is applied to the receiver's head and feet as well as the practitioner holding their hands a few inches above the body. The practitioners hands follow a series of positions with the intention of releasing stagnant energy allowing the receiver's Chi "life energy" flow throughout their body. Each experience varies from person to person but the relaxation is a constant. The human body is innately intelligent. The practitioner is merely a vehicle allowing the client to receive what they need whether its subtle shifts or deep relaxation.
